The Innovation Talk session at Pertamina Geothermal Energy’s (PGE) Geovation event opened with remarks from the Director of Operations, followed by a dynamic panel discussion featuring the Vice President of Operations & Engineering and General Managers from Kamojang, Karaha, Lahendong, Lumut Balai, and Ulubelu Areas. The session set the stage for strategic conversations around innovation, digital transformation, and operational excellence.

Presenting the G-Bionic Project following the panel, the spotlight turned to G-Bionic, PGE’s flagship digital transformation program. The project was presented in detail by the Director of Operations and the Vice President of Operations & Engineering, who also serves as the Project Manager of G-Bionic.

The presentation covered:

• An overview of the G-Bionic project
• Its expected impact on overall business performance
• A breakdown of the 41 identified digital initiatives
• A mockup demonstration of one of the initiatives: the Production Optimization Simulation tool

This particular simulation tool showcases how adjustments in operational parameters can impact system capacity and conditions, using a deliverability curve model tailored for steam supply and power generation systems. The initiative is designed to help identify performance bottlenecks and unlock improvement opportunities—ultimately reducing losses and enhancing power plant efficiency.

Interactive Engagements and Project Awareness to further promote G-Bionic among PGE employees, the team set up several interactive and engaging activations during the event:

• Installation of informative banners
• Distribution of exclusive merchandise
• A popular AI-powered photobooth experience

Additionally, the G-Bionic team hosted a sharing session with directors and general managers to further discuss the vision, direction, and role of innovation in the future of PGE. Carrying the theme of “Innovation”, this session emphasized the importance of collaborative leadership and digital readiness across all areas of operation.
